RIOLO TERME FORTRESS – RIOLO TERME (RA)

This fortress dates back to the XVI century, is well preserved and belongs to the so called “transition” fortified buildings that are featured by elements of both Medieval and Renaissance origin.
The museum multimedia devices that are located in the area of the water supply well are entirely dedicated to Caterina Sforza’s life and love affairs, as well as to the Renaissance fire weapons and war machines that were used in that age.
Particularly impressive are the moat, the machicolations for the lead throws and the handling chamber with the fire holes.
